Agency drivers

Driver-first tachograph analysis that follows you between operators

As an agency driver, your physical driver card is the only consistent source of truth. HGV Time Pilot reads that card on Android, shows remaining driving time from the legal file, and keeps the record on your account when the next booking starts.

The operator changes. The hours rules do not.

Fleet apps assume one transport manager is watching your card. Agency work does not work like that. You need an independent tachograph analysis app: remaining drive and rest from the card, infringement flags before the next shift, and a file you can send when someone asks for proof. The live shift timer is extra coaching — not the compliance engine.

  • The card is the source of truth

USB driver-card download on Android is Free. Remaining daily, weekly and fortnight driving times come from that file — not from remembering to start a timer at every booking.

  • Your login follows you

Agencies and trucks change. Your HGV Time Pilot account does not. Card history, “Can I drive now?”, and Pro reports stay against your email, not a fleet portal you lose on Friday.

  • Browser for the deep review

Open the web dashboard in Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox — on a Windows, Mac, or Linux laptop. Same password as the phone. Day-by-day timelines, WTD reference periods, PDF packs for the next operator, and Time Pilot AI on your card history.

Card analysis first. Timer second.

Two tools, one account. Google-style “timer apps” and “card readers” are not different products here — they answer different questions.

Source of truth

Driver card download

USB-OTG read on Android. Remaining driving time, weekly rest position, warnings and infringements, WTD reference periods. This is what an officer is looking at — and what you should look at before you accept the next booking.

In-cab coach

Live shift timer

Optional. One-tap Driving / Other Work / POA / Break. Audible heads-up before 4½ hours. Useful on mixed agency work where the last break was three vehicles ago — but it is not stored as an infringement and it is not evidence.

Android in the cab, browser at home

  1. Step 1

Read the card in the cab

Plug a CCID USB reader into the Android phone with OTG. The app captures .DDD / .V1B / .ESM / .TGD and auto-uploads to your account.

  2. Step 2

    Check remaining time

Open My Card Data on the phone or the web dashboard on a laptop. The headline is reconstructed from the card: OK to drive, break required, or a limit reached.

  3. Step 3

    Coach the current shift (optional)

The live timer warns before 4½ hours and WTD tiers while you are driving. It does not overwrite the card. Skip it if you only want analysis.

  4. Step 4

    Send proof, then invoice

On Pro, generate a weekly or fortnight PDF for the agency. Contractor invoicing produces a branded bill from the same login.

Compared with Tachogram

Tachogram is a strong, card-led analysis app — including on iPhone. HGV Time Pilot is the Android-phone plus any-laptop option when you want that same card-driven remaining time and an in-cab timer, WTD dashboard, walkaround records, and invoices in one driver-owned login.

Agency driver questions

  • Is HGV Time Pilot a tachograph analysis app?

Yes. It is a driver-first tachograph analysis and hours-tracking toolkit. You download your digital driver card on Android with a USB reader, then remaining drive time, rest position, warnings and infringements are calculated from that card file — not from remembering to tap Start Shift.

  • Why does an agency driver need their own analysis app?

Your physical driver card is the only consistent record when you switch vehicles and operators. A company transport manager is not keeping your history. Independent card analysis lets you see remaining driving time, weekly rest, and infringement risk before the next booking.

  • Does the live shift timer replace card analysis?

No. The timer coaches the current shift (breaks, WTD tiers, shift length). “Can I drive now?”, remaining times, and historical infringements come from the imported tachograph card. If the timer and the card disagree, trust the card for enforcement.

  • Can I use Android in the cab and a laptop at home?

Yes. That is the intended setup. Download the card on the phone, then open the web dashboard in any browser — Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox — on a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. Same login. There is no desktop app to install.

  • Is there an iPhone app?

No native iPhone app, and no Mac, Windows, or Linux desktop app. Card download is Android-only. Review the dashboard in any browser on an iPhone, iPad, or a Mac, Windows, or Linux laptop — you just cannot plug a USB reader into iOS through this product.

  • How do I send proof to the next agency?

Download the card on Android so the legal file is on your account. On Pro, generate a weekly, fortnight or day PDF from the Reports hub and email it. Contractor invoicing is separate — branded PDFs for the hours you bill.
